If you remember a few months ago I sent an email asking you to tag JFL on social media and it worked! I’m up here about to record a comedian roundtable interview with some comics from the festival. The power of this community is truly infinite!

More on that in next week’s email but today is about this week’s guest Michael Yo.

Before comedy, Michael Yo was a celebrity reporter interviewing everyone from Tom Cruise to Will Smith but now he is a full time comic creating his own success with killer stand-up and social media content.

We get into the nitty gritty on the comedy hustle including his mentor Jo Koy.

Jo gave Michael a lot of game about both performing and writing but the biggest advice was “don’t write jokes, write the truth and heighten it.”
